Many small businesses ask whether they should be making reels or sticking to posts. The answer is usually both, with a simple plan.
What reels are good for
Short videos are shown to people who do not follow you yet, so they are your best tool for being discovered. They work well for behind-the-scenes, quick tips, product demos and before-and-after results.
What posts are good for
Posts, carousels and stories keep your existing followers informed. Use them for offers, announcements, customer feedback and answers to common questions.
A realistic monthly rhythm
- Start with a steady number of posts you can keep up, for example 8 a month.
- Add a few reels as your confidence and content grow.
- Plan the month in a content calendar, around your offers and seasons.
- Reply to comments and messages quickly. It builds trust.
Measure what matters
Look at saves, shares, messages and enquiries, not just likes. Do more of what brings real customers.
